Unexpected thoracic endograft infection following a colorectal procedure
Infection of endovascular stent-grafts is a severe complication, but not often reported. We report herein a case of a 61-year-old man presented with pneumonia-like symptoms 24 days after receiving laparoscopic resection of stage 1 sigmoid cancer. Acute pneumonitis and cancer recurrence were excluded on Ga-67 citrate imaging. An infected endovascular graft of the aortic arch, which had been plac...
متن کاملSurgical treatment of aortobronchial fistula after thoracic endograft failure
Endovascular stent grafting has been recently considered as a less invasive alternative to either medical therapy or open surgical treatment for many patients with descending thoracic aortic disease. Late complications are rarely described in literature. Herein, we described the occurrence of an aorto-bronchial fistula and a retro-A dissection in a 73-year-old man after stent-grafting for a pen...
متن کاملLate lumen loss in thoracic aortic end graft after endovascular procedure of a traumatic pseudoaneurysm
We report the case of a 23-year-old woman who died due to endograft stenosis 20 months after thoracic endovascular aortic repair. The patient presented with the pseudocoarctation syndrome. Although angioplasty of stenosis endograft was successfully performed, severe metabolic complications were lethal.
متن کاملHybrid arch debranching and endograft repair in a patient with a ruptured thoracic aortic aneurysm.
Recent advances in hybrid techniques of aortic arch debranching allow for the repair of thoracic aortic arch aneurysm without requiring cardiopulmonary bypass or hypothermic circulatory arrest. We describe the repair of a ruptured proximal descending thoracic aortic aneurysm, using off-pump aortic arch debranching and antegrade transaortic deployment of a thoracic endograft in an elderly patient.
متن کاملInitial experience in the treatment of thoracic aortic aneurysmal disease with a thoracic aortic endograft at Baylor University Medical Center.
A retrospective review of 27 patients who underwent endovascular repair of thoracic aneurysms and of other thoracic aortic pathology with the thoracic aortic endograft (Gore Medical, Flagstaff, AZ) from June 2005 to July 2007 was performed. The mean follow-up period was 13.5 months (range, 2-25 months). Indications for thoracic endografting included descending thoracic aneurysms (n = 18), thora...
